Thalassran Hargraven
Aspiring Adventurer (Informally)
Appearance
Tall and lithe, Thalassran boasts a fairly typical physique for an elf. His hair is short, slightly wavy and dark brown in colour. Though it may often appear darker than it really is, standing in contrast to his bright yellow eyes. Normally he wears common clothing, often with a simple dark grey or sometimes black cloak during the colder seasons or whenever suitable. He can usually be seen wearing a golden headpiece, passed onto him by his mother. However, unbeknownst to him it originally belonged to his father.
Skills and Abilities
As per his fae ancestry, Thalassran has a natural talent for certain aspects of ley magick. This also largely extends to more common forms of magic encountered across Arethil. However, magick manifests slightly differently in the young half-elf. Unlike a full Duanann, he does not possess an Affinity, nor has the ability to ley travel among the various other traits and abilities common to the fae. While he did not inherit most qualities that make a fae, he has retained the Duanann's weakness to iron as well as their darkvision; albeit both with reduced effectiveness.
Where his abilities mainly differ, however, is in his use of magic. Although he's technically capable of utilising magic as it is generally done by humans and elves, he prefers to channel magic directly from ley lines, acting as a conduit to evoke various spells. Most of these manifest in a swirl of yellow arcane energy, though this can differ based on the spell's effects, such as with pyromancy.
With regards to more physical skills, Thal's ineptitude with melee weapons rears its ugly head when swordplay is concerned. While he's not a complete pushover, he hardly has a chance of besting anyone with even a modicum of training. In terms of more rudimentary skills, he's adept at cooking, certainly enough to survive on his own although his hunting skills could use some attention having grown up in the city.

Personality
Allignmet: Chaotic Neutral
On the surface, Thalassran is often described as being overly brash, impatient and even rude... While not entirely false, the truth about what makes him tick is far more complicated. Kind, friendly and carefree are usually just as accurate assessments of his personality, though they do not paint the whole picture either. In reality, he's a mixture of all that and more; but to unearth his true self one must put the effort in first. Though one thing was undeniable and obvious— his brazen naivety, common among young elves.

Biography & Lore
From mighty origins, cast into a humble upbringing, Thalassran was born in the outer city of Alliria to an elven innkeeper, his mother, where he spent most of his early life. While it was far from a glamorous upbringing, it was nonetheless a peaceful one, save a few minor scuffles, brawls and the like. Being the son of an innkeeper had its challenges, helping out most of the time in any way he could.
He didn't hate it, to be precise; but helping around an inn, serving food and tending to guests wasn't exactly in his criteria of a life fulfilled. Naturally, as a young lad, he wanted more. Who wouldn't? As it soon proved to be the main source of contention between him and his mother and while she did her best to compromise, it was never quite enough. Some might call him ungrateful and disrespectful, others would agree with him. Magic was as much a part of him as breathing. Yet, he had little to show for it, apart from a few cantrips and spells he'd discovered on his own by trial, error, a few bruises and a lot of burns.
And 'discover' more he would. Steal, to be more precise. Not a spell or cantrip, but knowledge. A questionable choice, not least because of who he robbed, but one that taught him power that was rightfully his. Or at least that's how he saw it. What he'd use his newfound knowledge for, however, is only his to know.
One thing was for certain, the owner would want it back. At any cost.
