The Abyss is a truly hellish place. It is not so much a settlement or city as it is a biome dominated by a specific species, this species being the Driders. It is very deep underground, going further underground than even the Drow dare delve. It is mostly a system of caves, save for the great pillars in it’s heart, which as its name suggests, is a large area of somewhat open area save for the system of haphazardly placed natural pillars that support everything above them. It is also filled with webs.

Appearance
It is, appropriate, Abyssal. Dark, very few sources of light if any and mostly made up of caves.
History
Background
It isn’t one of the few places underground untouched by either dwarves or drow, and the inhabitants have always fed on those foolish enough to set foot within.
Lore
It is the darkest place in the known world and home to the highly territorial Driders. It is a place for all others to avoid at any and all costs. But the growing Drider populace has led it to be very cramped, so they have recently begun organizing themselves under a pentarchy of kings and queens, who have begun directing their people to dig in all directions, which has now brought them to the surface.
