Across The Realm

Whilst they may have a few traits that come across as 'beastly'. Animaux are also known to mate for life, although they do not always harbour love for those of the same species or breed.
Animaux have personalities that are as human as possible.
These creatures more often then not posses the ability to wield magic as it is one of the very parts of their essence.

The origin of the Animaux is spread forth in fairy-tales and stories surrounding a campfire. Said tales suggest that they were originally just normal animals and one day, thousands of years ago a power hungry mage thought to give these beasts minds of their own, allow them a sense of self and clear thoughts with the end goal using the Animaux as accessories in war, but this mage underestimated the entirety of their self awareness. Majority of them turned against the mage, the few that did not stayed out of fear and were taken down along with their master.
Those Animaux that chose the righteous path began settlements of their own, eventually joining villages and cities become the citizens we know today. They still operate out of clans and packs that can mix between breeds of Animaux if some of then are not naturally territorial. When you come across and Animaux, it is very seldom that they are alone as they are pack creatures, but those that are alone have either chosen such a life or have been exiled from their clan. These solo flyers are those you tend to find in larger cities and kingdoms.
