Tadrielus Sidra
Appearance
Tadrielus is an abtati, otherwise known as a "sand elf," but it would be difficult to tell by looking at him. A rare mutation has rendered him as what he refers to as "pigmentally impaired." While he is tan compared to the fairer skinned people of Arethil, he is quite pale next to most of his desert kinsmen. His hair is a very light straw color, and his eyes are light green. This lack of natural protection from the fierce desert sun requires him to be almost entirely covered when he traverses the dunes.
He has a lean yet muscular build befitting his race and lifestyle. His body is adorned with white tattoos depicting trees and twisting branches, which is the sigil of his family. These tattoos are similar to and complement those of his sister, Kiia Sidra.
He most often wears a warm and friendly expression.

Skills and Abilities
Tadrielus is a warg, able to temporary transfer his mind and take control of an animal companion. He sees through their eyes, hears through their ears, tastes with their tongue. He controls the animal in this state while his own body is paralyzed and vulnerable. He is effortlessly able to control animals that he has formed a bond with, but he may attempt to control any animal within his line of sight with varying degrees of effort. Being nearby, especially in physical contact, makes the action much easier. In general, the more intelligent the animal, the more difficult it is to "warg into."
As warging is a form of mind control, he is able to telepathically communicate with animals in a similar fashion (although he will often vocalize as well, as it makes for better conversation). The degree of communication that he can achieve depends on many of the same factors as govern his ability to warg into them. This also enables him to tame animals much more easily than most. He is able to communicate perfectly with animals that he has formed a bond with.
Most abtati have some skill with geomancy and illusion magic, but Tadrielus never really took to this. He cannot usually do more than move sand about and conjure small images.
One bit of magic that he is skilled at is ethereal weaponry. Rather than carry weapons on his person, Tadrielus can summon weapons from the aether. He is most fond of his bow, and he is a very adept archer, able to accurate hit targets from significant distance. He has also been known to summon a scimitar and on rare occasions a shield. Summoned weapons appear to made of purple fire, but have more or less the capabilities of standard weaponry, albeit high quality. While it does not take a great deal of energy to summon and maintain these weapons, it is not effortless. Should Tadrielus ever be severely incapacitated he may not be able to call upon this magic.
As for non-magical skills, Tadrielus makes his living as a hunter, and is a good tracker.
Personality
Tadrielus was raised wandering the deserts of Amol-Kalit. His family's tribe shared a particularly strong bond with nature, living as close to the native plants and animals as possible and forging a strong respect for them. These ideals were made manifest in Tadrielus' warging abilities, and indeed the exceedingly rare gift has been described in ancestral members of his tribe throughout history.
While he thrived in the desert beneath his robes and shawls, his genetic impairment and inadequate pigmentation lead him to travel beyond the deserts when he was old enough to venture out on his own. As such, he is fond of the multitude of peoples and cultures that Arethil has to offer, is friendly unless given a reason not to be, and harbors no xenophobia nor prejudice against any particular culture.
Overall, he is warm hearted, open minded, and good humored. He is young, for an abtati, and so has been known to fall victim to inexperience and naivety from time to time.
Biography & Lore
Tadrielus grew up like many sand elves: a nomad traversing the sands endlessly. His family and tribe were uniquely attuned to the natural world, even amongst the dune dwellers, and lived alongside animal companions. Tadrielus has never known life without an animal bond.
Tadrielus left his tribe when he was 175 years old and set out to venture the world on his own. He went east, seeking the more temperate climates where he would not need to cover himself from head to toe at all times.
His closest companion is a male eagle named Téo.
He was close to his sister, Kiia Sidra, when they were children, but they drifted as they grew older. He has not seen her since she left their tribe some 100 years ago.
