Rosaria Theodane
Inner City,
Sepulchre, Ancestral Seat of House Theodane.
Rosaria is a wayfaring soul. Burdened by her voracious appetite for knowledge esoteric and forbidden. Named for the flower but known for it's thorns, Rosaria carves her path through ancient tombs and forgotten ruins in search of insight into that which is unknown and should remain unknowable.
Fleeting echoes of the family she had linger within her. She is not lost -- her descent into selfish mania to validate a polymath's madness is halted by the love she bears for the family she feels she failed.
Within her a dualistic battle ensues, grief wrestles with self as Rosaria seeks to drown away her sorrows amidst venerable papyrus and alchemists machinations.
Appearance
Elven blood runs strong within Rosaria's veins. Too strong. She is the signature features of the fae folk painted in extreme brushstrokes. Her skin seems like gossamer; her pallor is deathly pale. Flawless scarlet hair falls in thick curls from her head. Two ivory coloured, pointed ears sprout from the mess of usually tied-up hair. From a sickness she was born with, her sclera are a deep red.
Her body is svelte, bordering on ghoulish. Blackened veins pattern her pale flesh in cobweb patterning. A testament to her skill at arms, however, is that she is virtually unscarred. Her porcelain hue is only flawed by the plight that has afflicted her since birth.
Every step is a dance. A ballet that gives testament to the fabled grace of Elf-kind. She possesses finesse that would give a cat pause.

Skills and Abilities
- Polymath - Rosaria has a staggering ability to consume entire libraries worth of information. Committing the essential to memory, analysing and knowing most of everything be it academic, practical or esoteric. If there's something that Rosaria doesn't know about, she's going to do everything within her power to correct that error. Her specialities are Mathematics, Astrology and Philology as well as...
- Alchemy - The sacred art. From material calcination to outright projection. Something as benign as creating a healing salve from local herbs is child's play to Rosaria. She has, however, much to her chagrin, failed to find a formula to transmute lead to gold. At least in perpetuity (as several slighted Allirian merchants can attest).
- Occultism - Delving into that which should remain obscured to the mortal plains if a Theodane speciality. Before their downfall from fabled Empath Mages to madmen conjuring hexes and monsters from abyssal depths, Rosaria specialised in the summoning and expulsion of shades and spirits. She detests the 'term' exorcist, regardless of how commonly she's now referred to by it.
- Swordplay - Rosaria has voraciously read and put to practical use the contents of countless martial manuscripts. She favours fencing, with a lighter blade and a focus on footwork and controlled distance. Though she isn't as renowned for her skill with a blade as with books, she can still deliver a staggering rejoinder from a expert's quart.
- Plight - Born with an affliction that condemned her to an early, painful death -- Rosaria has been able to proactively counter the physically debilitating effects of her disorder through curatives and potions. However, these must be administered daily and in three different doses. If she is unable to imbibe these, she will deteriorate to a point where she'd struggle to lift her blade and if allowed to progress further, expire.
Personality
In the words of her father, "Curiosity has always been that girls best and worst trait.". Nothing is so caustic to her being as not knowing something. Being ignorant of some subject. A voracious mind in constant need of sustenance. Rosaria doesn't particularly care as to whether or she herself is viewed as intelligent by anyone but herself. Disinterest in the nuances of social etiquette and form started at a young age and still linger into her later years. Rare as it is, those who do manage to strike up a conversation with the girl would find her distinctly...
Laconic.
A tongue as sharp as a razor and with more venom than a snake. 'Snark' barely even begins to describe it. She possesses a philosophers wit coupled with a scholar's cynicism. A potent cocktail that leaves tempers fuming to anyone she levels her barbs at.
If you have nothing to show or tell her that she doesn't already know, she has no interest in you. And as much as she might begrudge herself of it, she holds true to the morality and principles instilled into her by her family.

Biography & Lore
Rosaria came into the world with the rain. A diminutive thing. As silent and as still as death when she was born. To her father and mother's anguish, the pedigree sickness that had beset the Theodane bloodline had marked her. Her father poured what scant funds remained from her household's time as a prestigious Sorcerer-House of famed Empathy-Mages and brought it to bankruptcy. Calling upon every soothsayer, oil-seller and alchemist from across Arethil.
She would live on, enjoying an ascetic, if not loving, childhood.
And then it was all taken from her.
Reports of what befell her household are fragmentary. Rosaria is one of two survivors who could bring testament to what occured. She has no desire to relive the events that took place that dark day.
So now she wanders. Healing. Learning.
