Renato Dalot de Souza
Renato, otherwise called "Dal" by his close comrades, is a seasoned Anirian Knight. Having been orphaned at a young age, Arren Holstag was responsible for placing Dal in an orphanage within Vel Anir. Dal immediately volunteered in the Guard as he became of age and has since served a long, successful career.
Appearance
Unremarkably built. Slightly above average height and has a career soldier's physique. Has medium-length brown hair and eyes of the same color. Hardened demeanor from a lifetime of military service. Has the disciplined posture of a confident warrior. Carries on his body several battle scars and one especially large burn scar on his entire back.
Has several small to medium-sized tattoos.
Skills and Abilities
Dal is a dedicated warrior and soldier possessing a well-rounded skillset. He is generally suited for any physical activity and has exceptional skill in close quarters combat with a variety of weapons and his bare hands. He is also a gifted marksman with a bow and throwable weapons, but this talent doesn't include crossbows.
Has all the skills necessary for operating alone or in small teams with minimal to no support or supervision from larger ally forces for extended periods of time.
Dal is a polyglot.
Possesses a preternatural will to survive. Withstands pain with ostensible indifference and shrugs off injuries others may find debilitating. Somehow claws and scraps his way out of even the direst of circumstances.
Personality
Outwardly curt and serious. He secretly cares for his brothers and sisters-in-arms. Incredibly patient and sober. Respectful and kind. Forthright and honest, but only to the degree he thinks is necessary for somebody to know. Has a deep-rooted hatred for Dreadlords.
Despite being able to comfortably fit in with groups, Dal is a lone wolf at heart.

Biography & Lore
Renato was born in Portimão, a large coastal city along the Cortosi Coast, until the Navy of Vel Anir laid siege to it due to growing hostilities. During the siege, Renato's family became casualties of the destruction caused by rampant Dreadlords, and he suffered severe injuries. He was found by a younger Arren Holstag, who saved his life and brought him to an orphanage in Vel Anir after the siege.
When Renato turned 15, he volunteered for the Guard. For the next few years, he dutifully carried out the menial tasks assigned to him and diligently trained with the rest of his cohort while also receiving personal, specialized training by Holstag himself.
After becoming old enough to see combat, Renato outshone many of his newly-recruited peers and showed exceptional promise in several fields. He was scouted for the Black Guard, where after only two years, he made the controversial decision to withdraw from the unit. From there, he acquired experience as a Ranger and was finally convinced by his former mentor and father figure Holstag to join the Anirian Knights, where he occasionally works in tandem with Holstag and his close-knit team, usually by offering support.
