Qiven the Tall
Qiven the Tall is a forest giant-- a race of reclusive, peaceful people that live far and away from the bustle of civilization. He, like most of his kin, is tall, strong, and emotionally intelligent. His love for music knows no bounds.
Appearance
His skin his almond-toned and covered with a short, thin grey-blue fur, mixed with copper strands. The fur gathers a bit thicker at the chin, jaw, knuckles, chest, and belly. The hair on his head is mostly straight and reaches his shoulders in copper waves. His eyes are a dark brown-black. His nose is big, long, wide, and a little crooked. Like most of his kind, he also has sharp fangs. Qiven stands at an awkward, lanky 8 feet tall-- short for a giant, but still mountainous compared to many of the other species one can find. His ears are long, fuzzy, and a little droopy, like a goats. He has a tail, tipped with a tuft of copper hair.
Qiven dresses somewhat lavishly for a forest giant. While most would dress in simple clothes of flax or hide, he has adjusted very much to the human-driven world and prefers silks if he can afford them. Qiven loves his shirts to be ruffled, his vests and belts to be embroidered with imagery beckoning to a love of nature, and tight-fitted trousers. Just as most forest giants enjoy adorning themselves with plants and feathers, Qiven can always be seen with flowers or leaves woven into his hair. On special occasions, he'll braid his hair and weave beads, ribbons, or feathers into it. His voice is soft and smooth.

Skills and Abilities
As any forest giant, Qiven is gifted with the ability to commune with animals. He can understand them, and they he, and due to the common gentle nature his kind has, there is a decent chance that they might even listen to him. Another special ability granted him by his race is that to alter his appearance slightly in order to blend in with human society. He can make himself appear a foot shorter or taller, and either hide his non-human features or morph them (i.e. making his goatlike ears mimic elf ears, hiding his tail, etc). Forest giants have excellent vision in the dark.
Culturally, his people are excellent foragers, herdsmen, and survivalists, and so is true for him as well. Just as they can, he has passable skill in sewing, firemaking, fletching, and leatherworking. He can erect a tent in moments, he can climb a tree like a squirrel, and while not as good a fisherman as some of his tribesmen, he won't starve if it comes to it.
Setting him apart from other forest giants, however, Qiven is a talented musician, a master of stringed instruments. His singing voice is lovely as well. Given that he relies on the kindness of others for survival, he has acquired decent skill in charisma, too.
Focusing on what he cannot do, however, Qiven cannot read or write. He cannot swim and he's a terrible runner. His Common skills are lacking, and sometimes his grammar is broken. Having not been one of the hunters of his village, he has zero weapons skills. The best he has when under attack is hoping that his strength and size will protect him.

Personality
Qiven is a gentle giant. He prefers peaceful solutions to any problem, and will become a pushover if it means violence doesn't occur. He loves to pick flowers and weave them into his hair, and sometimes he will pick them as gifts for children or kind strangers. Qiven thinks that the most beautiful thing in the world is music and seeks to spread that beauty as far as the land will let him. He is friendly and outgoing, but is terrified of women. Young or old, when he sees a woman, he freezes and cannot speak to them. Regardless, gender does not influence his attraction. He's a fan of the lads, too. Women are just scary.
Biography & Lore
Qiven grew up in the village of his tribe, a secluded place resting on a hill in the clearing of a forest. As forest giants are timid and shy, he rarely saw outsiders. However, a traveling musician earned the trust of his tribe and was welcomed to play in the center of the village. Qiven fell in love with the music he heard and begged the outsider to teach him how to play. The outsider did, and before he left, gifted the young giant his instrument. Qiven spent the rest of his adolescence mastering it, and when he was old enough, left his home to play music across the world like the traveler did.
He now travels from city to city, fort to village, playing his music for a living to spread the same beauty that captured him as a child. He freely presents as a forest giant most places, a spectacle to be seen, but in less friendly environments, takes the shape of an unusually tall human or an elf. He remains, unfortunately, illiterate and his grasp on Common, while passable, is still weak.
