Myrryn
Appearance:
Myrryn (Mih-ren) is a vision of twilight softness, her skin is pale as moonlight, her long hair soft and white, usually braided with feathers, herbs, and dried flowers.
Her eyes, though blind, are striking beneath her blindfold, milky white orbs, framed with long lashes. They do not see light, but something else entirely; aura, breath, life-force, the thrum of magic.
She is slight with a delicate frame. Her movements are precise and unnervingly fluid, betraying no uncertainty despite her lack of sight.
Her body bears black runework, branching like veins across her arms, throat and shoulders and back; ancient symbols for sight, healing, and warding. They pulse faintly with silvery luminescence when she works her magic.
Her garments are simple: linen robes in colours of moss and cream, leather wraps over her palms, and around her feet that are most often otherwise bare, because she “listens through the earth.”
Personality:
Myrryn is calm, observant, and gentle. Her experiences have instilled in her a quiet strength and a deep empathy. She listens to the world in ways others cannot, sensing life, energy, and danger through sound, air, and the subtle pulse of magic. Her voice is soft and measured, often carrying a hypnotic, almost otherworldly cadence. Though gentle and patient in her healing, she is fiercely protective when confronted with corruption, magical threat, or injustice.
Abilities:
- Healing: Myrryn can mend wounds, cure illness, and purge magical corruption. Her touch carries a subtle chill that soothes pain and accelerates recovery, a lingering echo of the frost she carries in her bones.
- Frost Magic: The frost that once nearly claimed her life now resides within her, manifesting as precise control over cold. She can lower fevers, chill blood in veins, form protective frost wards, or slow decay. Her frost magic is never showy; it is always purposeful, a quiet extension of her being.
- Runic Magic: As a Servant of the Old Runes, she carries knowledge of ancient elven sigils, wards, and enchantments, often channeling them with subtle gestures and murmured incantations.
- Blind Perception: Having given her sight as a sacrifice to heal others, Myrryn perceives the world through sound, scent, magical resonance, and the pulse of life energy. She can sense presence, intent, and emotion, as well as hidden magical disturbances.
Background:
As a child, Myrryn was abandoned during a bitter winter and left out in the frost for three nights before being found by a Falwood witch. The frost sank into her bones and never left, leaving her both physically fragile yet spiritually attuned to the elemental rhythms.
Later, in her early training as a healer, she faced a moment of impossible choice: to save a dying child, she sacrificed her own sight. Since then, she has never seen the world with her eyes, instead relying on her heightened senses and mystical attunement to life, magic, and the forest.
She became a Servant of the Old Runes, dedicating herself to preserving ancient knowledge, protecting sacred places, and aiding those in need. Her sacrifices are remembered in the frost that lingers in her touch and the quiet authority she carries.
Myrryn travels where she is needed, drawn by the pulses of suffering, corruption, or magical imbalance. She does not seek glory, but she is deeply compelled to act, especially when others cannot or will not.
