Appearance
Molly is short in size and stature, but she's a lot tougher than her appearance gives credit. Her dress is built up of multiple layers of muted tone fabrics that not only keep her warm, but offer some protection from weapons.
Her hair was often tied back with a ribbon that once belonged to her youngest sister Nora, though strands of it often escaped and hung near her face.
Leather boots kept her feet protected from the elements, and also allowed her to walk without a sound on a variety of floors. She carried a satchel which held food, water bladder, hunting knife, daggers, wetstone, soap, flint, rope and her coin pouch.
Skills and Abilities
No one likes a bully and Molly is no exception. Regardless of their status in society or rank, if she's witness to someone being bullied or abused, Molly'd step in with both fists, consequences be damned. Her skills in fighting and pouncing on unsuspecting targets made her a great mercenary.
Growing up, she learned how to launder clothes very well, so despite being a wunderkind, her dress was usually kept clean, allowing her to blend in all the easier.
Personality:
Molly is stubborn and strong-willed with her mother noting that she is her “fathers daughter.” Unlike her sisters, Molly does have somewhat of a violent streak. Whenever someone harms her or her family, she tends to give a no holds barred beatdown to the point where the victim is beaten bloody. This often caused a rift between her mother and sisters who were more "proper ladies" and she remained close with her father.
Despite being envious of her mother and sisters for being more ladylike, Molly deeply cares for her mother and sisters and is determined to protect them at whatever the cost. Overall, Molly is a sweet and caring person who will risk her life to help the helpless, especially children. She admires friendship, but her volatile and stubborn personality may wear thin on those who are impatient.
Molly enjoys training and getting into sparring matches in order to get stronger. She also likes cooking and sewing and finds painting to be relaxing, a trait she got from her mother much to her embarrassment. Molly is also interested in exploring the world and expanding her own horizons often reading about the lore of every nation and culture she encounters, but every now and then she thinks of her sisters and how she misses them.
Molly considers herself a hopeless romantic and often dreams of wearing a pretty dress and finding a man who would sweep her off her feet, dance with her under the moonlight, shower her with romantic gestures and live happily ever after like the stories her youngest sister used to love. Unfortunately, with her heart broken by a man whom she loved once, Molly fell into despair and realized that no man would ever love her. Molly does still hope that her dream will come true someday though.
Molly is a talented fighter, trained to fight by her father as a way to channel her violent tendencies towards those who harm her. Despite her lithe size, Molly is strong, capable of knocking her opponents twice her size out. Molly relies on speed and power to overwhelm her opponents and take them out.
History:
Molly is the oldest child of 3 sisters. Born in Elbion to a washerwoman mother and a city watch guard father. Molly spent most of her childhood playing with her sisters and assisting her mother with washing clothes for her clients. Molly had a very close relationship with her sisters. They would play hide and seek in the marketplace, wash clothes together and would sometimes sneak out to the forest and try to guess what type of bird is singing with the day ending with Molly reading to her sisters behind the oak tree about tales of knights and chivalry.
When Molly was around 11 years old, she witnessed her middle sister being picked on and teased by a couple of boys around the Rundown Backstreet. Seeing her sister in tears enraged Molly to the point where she rushed in and began beating the boys senseless, knocking two of them out and gave one a fractured nose. When the parents of the boys complained, Molly and her mother got into a fierce argument over Molly's anger streak. Her father broke it off and decided that he would train her how to fight to better channel her anger. Molly gave a grin but craned her head to see her sisters cowering in fear of her much to her dismay and horror.
Molly enjoyed training with her father, she found out that she was a natural at fighting and even ended up beating him in sparring, though she knew that his father was holding back on her. Molly still helped her mother and sisters with washing the clothes and folding them for clients, but Molly noticed that they have become noticeably distant from her. Molly had started to play with her sisters less and even got into more arguments with her mother over her not being a proper lady. Molly attempted to say that she was still the same girl but while her sisters were somewhat receptive, her mother did not listen to her and as a result, she became closer to her father.
When Molly was 15 years old, her father was wounded during an Elven riot at Allria and needed his leg amputated. With the bulk of their income gone, Molly took it upon herself to find work and send money back home. Looking at the Notice Board, Molly found a job that would take her out of Allria. It was an escort job, that required someone with fighting experience. It was there that Molly decided to become a mercenary. When Molly informed her family of this decision, her father and sisters were saddened by this decision but supported Molly. Her mother remained cold to Molly and stayed silent. Before she left, Molly's father gave her two Veridum Daggers that he was meant to give to her before the riots. After a tearful goodbye, Molly headed on the road nervous but excited to see the world outside of Allria.
For the next four years, Molly found success in the Mercenary business. While she did take part in Mercenary companies, she was kicked off due to her getting into fights with her co-workers who tried to grope her. Molly eventually decided to set off alone and found that it suited her. She would often send half of her pay to her family and would write pages of letters talking about her adventures on the road. Her sisters would write back, saying that they missed her and hoped she come back. Molly often keeps all the letters from her sisters in a small box and would spend all night re-reading them. Molly still hoped for a love life where she could start a family of her own. She thought she found love while working in Alliria she found a man named: Willis Reede.
Willis was around 19 he was returning to Alliria after completing a job in Cerk At Thul. Along the way through, he had a case of Scurvy and by the time Willis reached port, the Scurvy got worse. So Molly who was in Alliria visiting her newlywed sister took care of the ailing Willis. The two became fast friends, with Molly developing feelings towards Willis. Although he was oblivious towards her feelings, Willis did enjoy Molly's company, showering her with gifts and taking her out to eat whenever Willis got paid.
They got to know each other for about a year and a half until one night after a party, Willis got REALLY drunk and proposed to Molly. She tearfully said yes and hugged him tightly. Though when Willis recovered from his drunkenness, he told Molly that it was a mistake and he didn't want to marry her. The response broke Molly's heart and she beat Willis to a bloody pulp and left Alliria in tears.
