Appearance and Equipment

* Long white hair braided in the back with long bangs in the front, dark eyes, pale skin, 5'6", slight build.

* Wears the dark coat and garb common among Gildan Regulators. Wears a large, wide-brimmed hat with decorative lace veils, a high-collar jacket with dark epaulettes, a dark shoulder sash, and thigh-high boots.

* Usually armed with some array of lightweight weapons that take advantage of reach or range: a rapier, a swordlance, a whip, a lariat, a light crossbow.

Skills and Abilities

Praetor Anti-magic: Nullifying Enchantment. Leah, with great efficiency in terms of power expenditure, may through touch "enchant" inanimate objects—a crossbow bolt, a whip, a suit of armor—with nullifying anti-magic. This Enchantment offers a range of versatility; for defensive applications, one's clothing/armor, shields, gates and walls, and so on, can be made to ward against magic; for offensive applications, a whip or rope or bola ensnared around a mage can prevent spellcasting, crossbow bolts, projectiles, and other weapons embedded in a mage can likewise prevent their casting; even clever traps can be set by Enchanting innocuous objects and allowing a mage to unwittingly touch them. Items with a normal magic enchantment or effect can be dispelled of it through the Nullifying Enchantment, as they will cancel one another out (stronger enchantments are more difficult). The Nullifying Enchantment placed on objects will last for only about an hour. The larger the object Enchanted, the more exponentially taxing it is to do so, despite her power's general efficiency.

Praetor Training: Praetors of Gild are warrior statesmen (and women). Leah, given her small stature (and also how her Praetor power functions), prefers to fight utilizing the advantages of reach, range, and agility. While her Praetor power allows her to excel at anti-magic and to be quite formidable against mages, she lacks combat expertise and martial ability versus mundane, physical threats, being only just adequate.

Apprentice Regulator: A fresh graduate of the War College, Leah is in the process of undergoing Regulator training: to learn the methods of identifying and combating the foulest magics, the supernatural and the occult, and monsters of all types.

Personality and Characteristics

Major

* Given so completely to the Jurist concept of the Right Ordering that she believes everything goes in accordance with Regel's will. She is therefore a fatalist, consumed by the idea that all is fated, and that everything falls in line with Regel's divine plan.

* At most times has an aura of eerie calm and absolute certainty, as though she could cut off her own finger, not blink, and cogently explain her purpose in doing so all the while. Her demeanor can be unsettling, even alien, and it isn't helped by occasional bits of odd commentary.

* Usually stolid or blissfully content, though she does have uncommon to rare moments of emotion (which can even be highly disproportionate in their response).

* Has a tendency to develop fixations and obsessions, and also to have them fall away just as suddenly as they manifested.

Minor

+ Rarely surprised, though even surprise (as well as other reactionary emotions) is in her view fated and thus meant to serve a purpose.

+ Has a little snaggletooth, her bottom right canine, that she is self-conscious about; also has an extremely dainty sneeze she tacitly likes about herself. Allergic to cats.

+ Sings soprano in the choir of her favorite temple in Gild. Likes haunting, ethereal music.

+ Rewards herself, and others, with blackberry pie for achievements and successes, this stemming from her parents being bakers and blackberry her favorite flavor.

+ Regularly visits, and is fascinated by, graveyards.

+ Adores falcons and falconry.

This too is ordained, and her wound at a young age proves instructive. She stares at her own blood, fascinated. She cuts herself falling on accident; the wound is bright red against her pale skin.

Her parents' worry is ordained, so all is well. She is a strange girl, precocious in some ways, stifled in others. And thus is Leah born.
