Kolvar Vayra
Appearance
Kolvar is short for an elf, but makes the most of it with his talent for stealth. He is naturally pale, but due to being out in the sun day after day, his skin tends to have a golden sheen to it in the warmer months. His hair is long, reaching almost to his waist and shines a gorgeous red. His eyes are a dark brown, another strange trait for an elf as the race tends to have brighter eyes.
Skills and Abilities
Kolvar is particularly skilled when wielding a knife. He knows where to cut in order to kill or simply leave someone in a lot of pain. While not as skilled, he does have a fair amount of talent in swordsmanship and shooting with a crossbow as he was required to learn when joining the military.
When it comes to magic, Kolvar began practicing not long before his journey began, but he hasn't had much luck with it. He is able to cast a few spells dealing with the element of air, but nothing that can cause any serious damage.

Personality
Kolvar tends to be a very reserved man. He hides many secrets and will go about any means to keep them hidden. Due to his reluctance to open himself up to his comrades, he has issues trusting people, even those he's known for a long time. He can also be stubborn and constantly wants things done his way when given positions of leadership. However, he prefers to be a follower and can work well with others when he puts his issues behind him.
Biography & Lore
Kolvar was born in a city that doomed him. Vel Anir is quite xenophobic and being a half-elf got him kicked to the curb at a young age. His father was and elf while his mother was human, but his father went missing two years after his birth while on a mission to Alliria. His mother raised him on her own in a crowded inn at the edge of the city. She was good friends with the owner of the inn, who helped her conceal the secret that her son was an elf. Kolvar often spent him time locked in their room at the inn and when he had to go out, he was required to wear a hat to cover his ears. His mother unexpected died when he was about ten years old in human years and the innkeeper was old and worn out. The innkeeper had given the place to his granddaughter who, as soon as Kolvar's mother passed of an unknown sickness, kicked the young elf out to rot on the streets.
Kolvar lived in the alleys, learned how to fend for himself, how to conceal his true identity, and how to beg for scraps. The experiences from the alleys were easily burned into his memory, making him the man he is now. Suddenly, he decided to risk his life in order to join the Vel Anir military. He knew he would be in comfort and after over a hundred years of living in the alleys, he wanted to try to obtain that comfort. With his knife he stole from a dead man lying in the streets, he pierced the tips of both his ears and learned to pin them to his hair in order to cover them with his hair. He stole some nicer clothes from a store at the edge of town and set off to the fortress to become a soldier for the people he hated most.
