Kaelan
Appearance
Kaelan has been described by many as a "truly beautiful man." His features are sharp and well formed, but his fair skin is soft and unmarred. His brows are thick and a tad scruffy, one of his few exceedingly masculine traits aside from his chin and jawline. His lashes are long, even for an elven male. His hair is long, stretching down well past his lower back, but he keeps it pinned up with the branches that usually adorn his head. His amber eyes are positively radiant; they shimmer especially brightly during twilight hours. He is fit and lithe--muscular, but not overly so, owing to his lifestyle.
Kaelan enjoys being wrapped in all things natural. His clothes are usually hand crafted from furs, feathers, and plants that he gathers himself. The only part of his ensemble that ever remains consistent are his ear piercings and necklace, the last mementos he has to remind himself of home.

Skills and Abilities
Kaelan is an expert when it comes to all things wilderness related. He is a survivalist, a hunter, a tracker. Few can match his propensity for understanding nature. This inherent comprehension has given Kaelan an edge at druidic magic. He is also a decent shot with a bow.
Kaelan's greatest skill is his summoning magic. With great focus he can draw in and temporarily bind creatures from the Elemental Plane to Arethil, whereupon they serve him for the duration of their stay. There are a number of preferred elementals that Kaelan falls back on.
Outside of that, Kaelan is a proud clothier. He loves to collect hides, furs, bones, and plants and craft clothing from them. He is also a self taught cook. His love and respect for nature means that he always tries to use every part of any animal he kills.

Personality
Kaelan is a carefree and lighthearted individual. He is both insatiably curious and foolishly brave. In fact, his minimal knowledge of the civilized world has left him quite naive. He adores nature and all of its aspects and values friendship above most things (though most of his "friends" are summoned elementals). Kaelan is very honest and forthcoming and wears his heart upon his sleeve. He is protective of that which he cherishes.
Biography & Lore
"I've got friends in far places."
Kaelan grew up in a small, treetop village within the Falwood. From a young age he found himself exceedingly in tune with the world around him. Many days he spent sitting high in the branches near his home conversing with the various animals that shared it. Kaelan came to love nature and all its blessings more than anything else. He quickly took to the druidic magic his mother taught him when he was not wandering about the forest.
In time, greater things than the mundane woods around Kaelan would come to enthrall him. Travelers stopped through his village from time to time, and Kaelan would often drop down on them from the canopy above to converse with them. He loved to hear the stories of far off lands and of the creatures that roamed there. None, however, excited him more than tales of dragons...great, majestic beasts which breathed the elements and mastered both land and sky! Soon enough Kaelan's mind was filled with naught but traveling as well, not to mention seeking out these legendary creatures that embodied nature's grandeur.
Perhaps it was Kaelan's overactive imagination that lead to him unlocking something that lay deep within him. The young man felt that the more he focused on envisioning a creature in his mind's eye, the more real that vision felt to him. Perhaps the vision he focused on the most was that of a great, beautiful bird wreathed in flame, a favorite from a tale his mother told him as a child. One day as he focused upon the creature he felt the air around him begin to roast. As his eyes snapped open a firebird materialized in front of him and, after gracefully whirling through the air, perched upon his shoulder...which remained unburned.
In the coming years, Kaelan came to understand that his unique connection with nature extended beyond the bounds of Arethil. He could draw beings from a place that he know only as the Elemental Plane into reality, if only temporarily. The creatures he summoned were friendly to him and would follow his wishes, and in return Kaelan was always kind to the ones that answered his call.
The realization of this ability was the catalyst for Kaelan's exit from his home. He decided to venture out into the world in search of the beasts that called themselves the masters of the elements in hopes of finding kinship in them. His pursuit led him towards a place far from home, rumors on the wind drawing him to the Spine...

Summons
The following are elementals with which Kaelan is familiar with and bonded to. Sometimes other entities appear from across the fabric of the planes, but these are the most common and almost always heed Kaelan's call.
- Netsu: A red and orange plumed firebird. Netsu is the smallest of Kaelan's summons, but was also the first. He is Kaelan's closest companion. While not nearly as mighty as the other summons, Netsu takes the least amount of effort to call forth. Netsu can coat himself in flame or spew it from his beak.
- Shimo: An icy scorpion the size of a small horse. Shimo is the most difficult to read of all of Kaelan's summons, owing to his cold nature and arthropod appearance. He is possibly the most obedient of the bunch, coming only and always when called. He can launch rays of frost from his claws and the sting of his tail can freeze living things solid.
- Ishi: A truly massive lizard-like behemoth made of earth and stone. She is quite lazy compared to the other summons, often forcing the other elementals to take her place if she feels she is not needed. When she does feel she is needed, however, or when she isn't sleepy, she is a force to be reckoned with. She is a wall of destruction, both supernaturally mighty and capable of causing localized earthquakes and throwing boulders. She is the second most magically taxing for Kaelan to call forth.
- Sora: A graceful white and grey air kirin, or a steed with a single horn and a mane and tail which resemble clouds. Sora is an elegant and picky summon. He generally does not like heeding a call when a fight is about. This is not to say he is not a capable fighter; indeed, Sora is both incredibly quick and can unleash mighty gusts of wind from his horn. His most useful ability is as a mount, however, as Sora is virtually weightless and can leap great distances.
- Yoru: First summoned when Kaelan was having a nightmare, Yoru is a shadowy dire wolf that Kaelan initially thought was malicious. In time, Kaelan learned that he was just slow to trust and slower to show care for his summoner. In times of extreme danger, Yoru has been the first to come to Kaelan's aid, forcing the other summons aside to heed the call first. Impossibly fierce, Yoru can merge with shadows and wreath himself in a veil of darkness, lashing out with fang and claw.
- Taiyo: The most motherly and docile of Kaelan's summons, Taiyo is an enormous moth that exudes light. While her body is little larger than a human's her wing span unfurls a good 30 feet. She is very loving towards Kaelan, though she lacks the ferocity and fervor for battle that the other summons have. She is capable of firing beams of light from her wings and antennae, exuding blinding rays from her entire body, and even healing minor wounds.
- Ruto: A 12 foot, floating, golem-like creature made of pure wood and vines. Ruto is generally a gentle giant. She usually only heeds the call when brute strength is needed, but fighting is not. Ruto seems to have a respect for life that prevents her from wanting to harm other living things. However, she has been known to throw her weight around when danger poses a threat to more lives. She can create lashing, binding, and spiky plant life that bends to her will.
- Umi: Positively gigantic (rivaling castles and dragons in sheer size), Umi is a water elemental whose form resembles that of a titanic, blue-green crab. Umi is presently the newest of Kaelan's summons, discovered and first summoned while the elf engaged in battle against the force of destruction that was Zull-Du'un. Umi pulls unsustainably large amounts of energy from Kaelan, but is a stalwart, unshakable ally. The giant crab is capable of unleashing absolute torrents of icy water from his claws and mouth, and is a nearly indestructible and unstoppable force of nature in his own right.
