Johnny, Jo'hnee Gnash
Appearance
Standing over most humans in height, Johnny as most humans call him, is not built nearly the same as his typical brothers and sisters. Certainly bulkier than most of the less able races, he is nowhere near as large as the warriors of his race. More adapted to the city life than any of his kind typically like to be, John has more human features that allow him an easier time of blending in.He never did the bulk inducing work as other orcs did, instead picking up on the trade settled upon the water. Needing to be nimble, and able to swim rather than sink has attributed to his somewhat slighter build. Very lean in build having grown up working boats and docks for fishing and cargo, he is by far more nimble than strong.
That isn't to say the orc cannot outlift most of his company. One of his favorite pastimes on board a ship is making sure his crew is fit and ready for anything. Cargo hauling is one matter, but a contest of strength and speed aboard one of his boats involved speedy stacking and mobbing of freight for a number of small boons from extended shore leave to drinks on the captain.
He has a few scars on him from past encounters with pirates and other unsavory characters. While having some skill with a short sword, he prefers to avoid combat.
With the scars and tusks that are so prominent a feature for orcs, many believe him to be nothing more than a brute or a dullard upon first encounter typically. He does nothing to alleviate the assumptions, sometimes allowing a member of his crew to play as being the captain until decisions need to be made upon which he steps in.
He has a few tattoos, hidden beneath his clothing for the most part. One can be seen alongside his neck however, a depiction of a great myth of the water said to snap boats in half and lurk in the deepest parts of the ocean.
Skills and Abilities
Multiple Languages - John grew up in the large orc stronghold with a mixed community. Learning to speak several different languages such as orc, common, dwarven, and elvish, along with the trade tongue.Loves the Water And Sailing - Had a small business running people around on the water with a small collection of boats.
Trade - Johnny is known in both Alliria and Elbion as a decent trader by local merchants. While he has swindled a few people, typically because of a genuine or perceived slight, he keeps his business on the up and up for the most part. That isn't to say he hasn't smuggled a few items here or there.
Personality
While most would look at him and simply see an orc, Jo'hnee is a rather friendly fellow. In Bhathairk, he enjoyed keeping an eye on the kids of his crew, letting them run amok on the ship while docked and teaching them knots or about the stars.While he has a soft spot for kids, he is not afraid to let blood run by his hand. While only a couple of times, the threat of a mutiny by more zealous crew members has been quelled and brought to punishment by agreement of his crews.
He is a fair person, listening to both sides of an arguement given that his kind can be looked down upon. He does not enjoy being cruel or punishing people, and would much rather steal coin than a life.
