The Queen's Advisor

Appearance

Taller than Asher, but not as imposing as Rivain. He is a fair bit more slender than both of his brothers, with the long limbed-elegance that doesn't suit the Adamou name. His frame doesn't exude the same brute force like Rivain or Asher, but he always carries an air of quiet authority and a graceful presence.

Skills and Abilities

Gavin has the ability to amplify and extend the influence of other forms of magic. He can enhance spellwork, increase its duration, or expand the reach. His education under the wing of Merenor has allowed him to excel at augmenting the magical potential of others, making him a highly valuable support figure in battle, rituals, and courts.
Outside of his rare skill, he has a strategic mind, a sharp knowledge of magic, and proficiency in magic wards where he may use his own ability to amplify protection.

Personality

He was once a very reserved and thoughtful young male, but since relocating to the Day Court, he has become rather cynical and sarcastic. Though he may dutifully serve the Queen, his heart is not in it. He feels trapped in a political game he had not asked to play in, and his lack of genuine interest in the Queen has caused an undercurrent of tension in their relationship. While mostly respectful, he is not emotionally invested and his bitterness has only grown over the years.
Though it may seem far fetched, he truly does love his brothers and values their bond, even if it is a strained one.

Biography & Lore

Gavin, like Rivain and Asher Adamou, grew up in the Elderglen. While Rivain and Asher excelled in physical prowess and magic suited for battle, Gavin always gravitated toward more interesting magics. His affinity for the arcane arts was apparent early on in his life, and he was sent to be tutored by Merenor, an ancient and powerful mage who had once been part of the Day Court. Under Merenor's mentorship, Gavin became one of the most skilled magical amplifiers.

It was during this time that Merenor wrote to the Day Court, suggesting that Gavin's talents might be of use to them. At first, Merenor merely sought to have him added to the Day Court's prestigious magical council. However, the Day Court seemed to have seen something more in Gavin. The Queen, who had privately struggled with the political and magical intricacies of ruling, offered a strange proposal. One that came with little room for refusal. Gavin was not only asked to join the council, but was to be betrothed to the Queen herself.

He reluctantly agreed to the betrothal, understanding the political weight it carried. The Day Court's Queen, Gwynevere, was powerful but frail, and Gavin's abilities made him invaluable to her. Their relationship was never one built on love or even deep, mutual, respect. Rather, it was a strategic move by both the Queen and the court, and Gavin would find himself a political pawn rather than a true partner.

Now, a publicly respected advisor to the Queen, Gavin plays a crucial role in shaping the magical policy of the Day Court. Though, his heart is far from the political games and the ceremonial life he now leads. He often feels like an outsider in a court he was molded for.
