The pale-faced Gareth comfortably embraces the role of an enigmatic observer. He is often found in temporary "advisory" roles to petty baronies and ambitious crowns, but never in one place for long. The most striking aspect of Gareth is that he wears a blindfold. And by this most assume that he is blind.

They would be wrong.

While Gareth's father was human, his mother was a Gorgon. And he the cursed offspring of their union. His sight is true to his Gorgon blood, for his stare turns men to stone. He cannot control this petrifying gaze and thus chooses to go about wearing a blindfold. Beneath the cloth, his eyes are yellow and slitted, like a serpent's.

Gareth often speaks of the master he serves. Many believe it to be a god.
