Beliefs

Followers of the Light believe that The All Father, Sol'Nityr was the first being. He sat in the heavens and created light, from that light he took form, then he created his first children, but his children were greedy for power, they created the void and tricked Sol'Nityr into entering. They thought he was trapped forever, they left the universe in darkness they called themselves the dark gods, rulers of the void. Eons passed and finally a sword of light pierced the void and brought light back to the heavens, Sol'Nityr cast down his children banishing them to the very void they had trapped him in. From then on he would make lesser creatures.

Followers of the Light believe that when life is created The All Father takes a part of his own light, this light is called a spark, he then places that spark into every living creature. They believe that when a creature or being dies, their spark returns to The All Father and they will bathe in his glory forever. This is why they will often try to destroy the undead, it is not because they fear or hate the undead, they pity the undead and see it as a merciful righteous acts as they are returning their spark to Sol'Nityr so they may be at peace finally in his glory.

Followers of the Light believe that Sol'Nityr is the only true God and that all other "Gods" are just powerful beings but not actual Gods they refer to these other Gods and Goddesses as pretenders

Structure

The Followers are broken into two paths, The path to Priest or Priestess, or that of The Paladin. There are two distinct Leaders of the Followers of the Light, one is the Grand Priest who is devoted to the preaching of the word, and then there is the Grand Paladin, who is in charge of the military might of the Followers of the light.

Levels of Devotion.

The Congregation

The Congregation is the collective of the faith that believe in the God of Light and worship him, however the vast majority of the congregation do not undergo Priest or Paladin training.

Initiates:
All followers of the Light start as Initiates, it is here they are first taught the words of the Holy Book that tells of how the Warrior Sol'Nityr fought back the dark gods that wanted to keep his light from the heavens. They Learn basic healing spells as well as basic wards.

Acolyte/Page:
At this point in the training of each follower will have displayed talents which will decide which path they will follow.

Acolytes and Pages learn basic attack and defense skills at this point in their training they are able to use intermediate healing spells with very little drain on their magical reserves.

Acolytes will spend the majority of their training learning about healing and defense spells, as well as blessings which can help to strengthen party members.

Pages at this stage will begin training in unarmed combat and will learn to make constructs of Light to use for both offense and defense.

Priest/Holy Knight
At this stage followers will be very comfortable with advanced defense spells

Priests will have no issues holding up holy barriers and can heal multiple people with ease their abilities make them a target on any battlefield for this reason they are usually accompanied by Holy Knights.

Holy Knights are front line soldiers who take on their opponents with out fear as they believe the lord of light will honor them for dying in his name.
At this point they have been trained extensively in armored hand to hand and weapon combat they can summon advanced constructs and are comfortable with intermediate and sometimes advanced offensive spells.

Bishop/Paladin

Bishops are feared for their ability to heal massive groups of people during battle, they are capable of master level defensive and healing spells.

Where as Bishops are the unbreakable shields that protect the weak, Paladins are the very sword that Sol'Nityr wielded to beat back the dark.

Paladins are masters of weapon and armored combat, they are able to wield master level offensive spells and are very comfortable with advanced healing spells and defensive spells.
Paladins feel they have the closest relationship to Sol'Nityr as they feel they are following in his path as their The All Father is a Warrior God
