Eric Haraldson
A skilled blacksmith and businessman, Eric is affiliated with the Freedom Fighters, though not actually a member of the group, his wealth, experience and expertise in the arms trade and the creation of weapons, machines and devices are invaluable to their cause.
Appearance
Eric is a human man of average height and medium build, though his musculature is strong and well developed from years of working at his forge. He has long, straight black hair often seen in a short ponytail and dark brown eyes that many say has a yellowish tint to them. At his workshop, he wears a grey shirt and thick black pants with a dull grey apron and thick goggles that protect his eyes from the heat and the light of the forge. Whenever he is away, he has a noted preference for well tailored suits and what others might call business attire, most often pinstripe suits.
Skills and Abilities
Although skilled in the creation of weapons and armor and physically strong, Eric is not really a fighter. His expertise instead lies in the forging and shaping of metal. He is particularly adept at understanding just what metals are best to be mixed into iron, be it copper, zinc, tin, manganese, silicon or chromium.
Jameson believes that with sufficient time and the right materials, Eric could forge weapons and armor that are of the highest quality, even ones rivaling his own wargear.
In other matters, as mentioned, Haraldson is physically strong and showed himself able to hold his own against Nathan in an arm wrestling match for a short time before being overpowered. Another interesting bit about him is that years of working in a forge has given him some degree of tolerance to heat and hot temperatures, to the point where he has been seen working in his forge even during the hottest, brightest summer days with little discomfort.
Although his specialty lies in smithing, Eric is also a skilled engineer with a deep understanding of the principles of machinery such as the working of gears, cogs and electrical wirings, the blueprints and mathematical calculations for which devices he devised and drew up himself. Likewise, given his profession, it should come as no surprise that Eric is also exceptionally skilled in mathematics, calculations and exact units of measurement.

Personality
Eric is the archetypical "solitary genius", in that many label him as the "strong, silent type". That is to say, while it is true he dislikes the burdens of socialization, he certainly does care for others that are close to him, such as Jameson and Arthur. He only speaks when he feels he has something important to say and even then only keeps it to a brief murmur, using only the minimum amount of words that he feels necessary.
He is happiest at the forge or in his workshop, creating artifices, contraptions and machines that are not simply functional, but also are works of art in themselves.
Every piece he creates, be it a weapon, armor or even something as simple as iron nails, he devotes not just time and effort into creating, but also a certain flair. In particular, he brands every piece of armor with his own signature design, most often sleek, hard edged points and ridges. For swords, he takes a certain amount of pride in ensuring they are polished and pristine when they are finished, the pommel of which he often adds a design such as draconic imagery, religious iconography or mythical emblems. He feels that it is the point of a blacksmith not just to create weapons, but also to add a personal touch.
A practical man as much as an artist, Eric dislikes creating oversized weapons that many clients order from him, believing that such things are a waste of good steel and are far too impractical to be used in combat. In his mind, while weapons may be works of art, they are still tools to be used. Thus it is imperative to have a balance to them, rather than creating massive blades.
Not a field man, Eric dislikes travel and does not like to leave his home city unless he absolutely has to.
Uninterested in women or romantic relationships of any kind, Eric thinks of such things as a frivolous distraction.
Notably, despite his well deserved renown as a masterful blacksmith, Eric's greatest flaw is that he is something of a perfectionist. If any craft, be it weapon, armor or other piece is flawed in any notable capacity, he will immediately regard it as a failure and attempt to either salvage it, or if that is not possible, discard it with considerable frustration. In the past, this has displeased his customers as they often wish items he crafts with a certain deadline attached, but Haraldson cares little for such things, regarding the quality of items to be of vastly greater priority than their quantity.
