Biography & Lore
Born to the Colburnson family, Elric Colburnson had a gift for fighting since he was 10 years old displaying the vigor and aggressiveness whenever he practiced with his master at arms. Elric had an older brother named Bjorn who while he was close to growing up eventually became distant from Bjorn do to their conflicting views on the Nordenfir tradition. Elric was a staunch traditionalist while Bjorn had no problem bending the rules to his favor.
When Elric was 16 years old, Bjorn disappeared while he went to Faarin to visit one of his sons and Elric lead a search party to look for him. When the Jorn informed Elric that he and his son disappeared Elric insisted on finding him. They searched for a week before finding their mangled corpses before a giant. It’s unclear what happened, but it ended up with Elric as the sole survivor of the attack and his ax on the giants skull. After paying his respects, Eldric chopped off the head of the Giant and dragged it to Jorn presenting the Jorn as proof of what happened.
As such Elric, took over the noble family as sole heir and has proven to be a capable ruler through his amiable personality and his fighting prowess. When news of Maude's family being slaughtered by the usurper king: Borvenir an outraged Elric quickly formed a resistance to avenge the dishonor that was bought upon Maude's family While Maude traveled through Arethril to gather allies to take back her kingdom, Elric stayed in the Tundra fighting off Borvenir's forces.
He gathered a ragtag of nobles, commoners, bearhopper Halflings and mountain clans to form a formidable resistance with one purpose in mind: To hold off as long as they can until Maude arrives with reinforcements. Despite being outnumbered and outmatched, Elric shouldered on leading his troops through a marathon of battles gaining surprising ground against Borvenir. His most famous event is when Elric managed to win three battles in one day, his opponents were tough but Elric had hope and faith in his new queen Maude and made sure that he kept his soldier's morale high while they attack key parts in the Tundra.
After the war, Elric stayed loyal the Queen ready to do anything that she may ask of him.
