Elias Dorven is a wizard who hails from a nomadic tribe. He traveled the world for several years before moving to Elbion to become a professor at the college there.

Religion: WIP

Appearance

He's 5'10 in height with light skin. He has pointy ears, like other elves, and dark green eyes. He has blond hair, a few inches in length, he keeps it combed back. He has an average body build. He has six scars on his face from various injuries he's suffered over the years.

He usually dresses in a set of tan-colored robes with a hood that he usually keeps up. He has a brown colored belt tied around the waist. He also wears a pair of brown shoes.

Skills and Abilities

Ordermancy: Elias preferred powers, and the ones he's most capable in. He focuses on conjuring raw energy and using it to launch bolts of magic at his foes, or shielding himself from harm. He can use it to create solid objects as well but doesn't have any training in martial combat, meaning it has limited use for him.

Eye of Order: A special ability granted to Elias for his tireless practice of Ordermancy. When this ability is activated, his eyes glow a golden color, allowing him to "see" sources of chaos, as though it were a tangible presence. This is useful in allowing him to locate and eradicate sources of turmoil.

This ability comes with the cost of gradual blindness if used recklessly. It can be managed through ritual treatment, which can restore his eyesight. This healing isn't capable of restoring eyesight completely, however, meaning Elias has to be careful with how he uses it.

Banish Chaos - Elias projects a wave of energy outward that damages or dispels the forces of chaos in whatever form they might take. The most basic application is to harm enemies with a wave of magic. But it can also be used to remove the effects of dark or chaotic magic from an area, dispelling/weakening curses or buffs cast by dark magic.

Personality

Elias' is an exceptionally calm person, almost stoic, due both to his upbringing and the demands of his magic. He believes that uncontrolled feelings lead to making reckless decisions and that reckless decisions lead to chaos and ruin. Despite that, he's not an unfeeling man and doesn't try to extinguish his emotions altogether, only keep them in balance.

He's a polite and altruistic man, eloquent in speech and courageous in battle. He enjoys teaching others and hopes to impart some of the lessons he learned to his students. He also hopes to find those capable of wielding Ordermancy, and teach them what he knows.

He strongly believes in the benefits that law and order bring to Arethil, and sees chaos as the greatest of evils. This belief drives him to travel across the world and bring sense and stability where only chaos reigned before. He sees chaos itself as something of a force in itself, that seeks to bring things to ruin.

Biography & Lore

Elias hails from a small community in Fal'Addas, ones who revered Ordermancy and the philosophy of it. Thus, he grew up learning the tenets of his magic and becoming adept with it. As a young man, he went through something of a rebellious stage and ran off to enroll in the Elbion College. Though he learned much there and loved the college itself, he found he preferred Ordermancy to the magic they currently taught.

Upon graduating, Elias returned home and reconnected with his family, before later becoming a traveler. He wandered Arethil for a long while, helping to bring order to chaotic places, or helping stop orderly places from falling into chaos. When he heard of Elbion's shattering, he was dismayed and opted to return to help rebuild.

After spending a few weeks in the city he decided he'd serve order better by staying there long-term. He applied for and was made a professor of the Elbion College in the following days.
