Appearance

Though not as tall as Edgar, Edwin is still a broad and square man with some dense muscle. The stress of his position weighs on him and it shows in the deep lines of his face. He neatly maintains a full beard and short, combed hair. While certainly not ostentatious or gaudy, as the front of the business Edwin keeps a more refined and kept look with higher-end, yet still practical, attire.

Skills and Abilities

The Polite Powerhouse - He is not as large as his younger brother, Edgar, but do not underestimate him. The two regularly train and brawl together and Edwin can hold his own. Though he is more likely to use bladed weapons than his brother, strangling is actually his preferred method of take-down. It is cleaner.

Entrepreneurial Visionary - Edwin has a mind for numbers and business and he can turn a profit from almost anything that has even the slightest demand. He is adept at navigating the web of connections and contacts and knowing where and when to hit with offers, assistance, bribes, and threats.

Personality

If anyone were to point to any of the brothers as being the head of operations, it would be Edwin. He is the businessman and the chess-master. As the most level-headed, he is usually the one directing employees, contacts, and his brothers. Grim and deliberate, some would consider him the most civilized of the three. All of the Attwater brothers have an air of preparatory calm, much like lurking crocodiles, and Edwin's manifests as calculated, steadfast grace. While he may seem the most cool and relaxed of the three, it is rumored he may actually be the most sadistic when he has to take matters into his own hands.

Biography & Lore

The Attwater brothers are well-known among the seedier sorts of Liadain for the sanctuary and services they provide from the inn and tavern they inherited from their father. The Editorial, close to the Cortosi coast, is not on any major trade road, but it still sees a lot of business from bandits, mercenaries, smugglers, grifters, and even pirates. They do receive other sorts of travelers, often because they are seeking something they can't purchase elsewhere and were directed by someone in-the-know... or they are simply there by mistake.

Beneath The Editorial, accessed through the cellar, is a sprawl of old ruins and cave systems that have been built upon and fitted to house an impressively large black market fondly referred to as The Showroom. Stalls, tents, and renovated structures spread in all directions and rotate stock dependent on which merchants have set up to hawk their wares. Food and entertainers tempt visitors to stay just a little while longer to peruse the goods. Order, though the term is used loosely, is kept by mercenary guards (affectionately called Bulls or Bullies in honor of the rowdy few that have complained about them) on the Attwater payroll.

Other than the cellar, The Showroom has a handful of access points throughout its cave system, each of which have been charted and are either blocked off or guarded. One such access point leads directly to the Cortosi Coast, where a coastal cave houses a modest wharf also overseen by the Bullies.

Edwin is the eldest of the Attwater brothers. He acts as the family head and has the final say in most serious issues pertaining to the business, a responsibility that has weighed on him over the years. He also handles most of the accounting and bookkeeping for The Editorial and The Showroom.
