Appearance

"Winter is come," another to her left, a woman of short stature known as Denma, "even the best hunters can be lost to a squall."

Denma arrived with a cadre of guards and a Priestess. She was not, perhaps, the best choice for a welcoming party for the Elves given her rather dark disposition, but she could be counted on to get the Ambassadors wherever they needed to go safely and unimpeded.

Considered short for her people, Denma is no less dangerous. Stout of build with plenty of scars to show of her many accomplishments, she's described as a veritable powerhouse of a woman by those who speak of her. Denma's personality is as strong as her swinging arm and tongue as sharp as the axes she wields. Often she speaks before thinking and swings before looking, keeping those surrounding her on their toes. Her hair is typically kept in braids along her scalp, hanging freely at her back. Her wardrobe consists of furs and giant boar hide leather armor.

Biography

Denma is the eldest of Jorn Thurna's seven daughters. Hailing from Hjerim, it was Denma who is said to be her mother's twin in nearly every way except for her height and age, of course. As fierce as a mountain maelstrom in the dead of winter, she is known far and wide for her bravado at war and her high count of foes slain. Denma and her kin were among the first to receive pressure from the Usurper Borvenir, and though staunch supporters of Iordahn they all bent the knee with the hope that they might find a way to overthrown him. Denma volunteered to join Borvenir's harem when the demand for a mighty Hjerim Shield Maiden was made. It was Denma who spied on the man during his rule and Denma who helped sneak Maude and her allies into the palace through a back entrance.

She was immediately asked upon the Queen's Council upon the felling of the Usurper and she gladly agreed. Denma now heads up the training of Shield Maidens in the capital.
