Hand of Izmaelis
The mummified hand of the late Alchemist Izmaelis is said to absorb the misfortune and bad luck of its owner - one instance for each finger. When all five fingers are spent ... horrible catastrophe follows.
Description
- The Hand of Izmaelis absorbs bad luck or misfortune for its owner, no matter how big or small, regardless of distance away.
- To be used, the owner need only invoke the name "Izmaelis" as their bad luck or misfortune occurs to turn the tides of their luck back to fortune and favor.
- Each time the name is invoked, a finger curls down.
- Once all 5 fingers have been spent on the hand, horrible catastrophe befalls the owner.
- The Hand of Izmaelis will only work for one owner at a time, even if it is taken or stolen by another.
- The Hand of Izmaelis cannot be willingly given to another by its current owner, the bond is permanent until either death or 5-finger calamity.
- When Izmaelis' catastrophe strikes, its bond to its current owner breaks and all five fingers unfurl, ready for its next owner. It cannot be claimed by the same person for a second time.
- The Hand of Izmaelis can be claimed by a new person if the current owner dies. The death of the current owner resets the fingers.
- The Hand of Izmaelis does not need to be carried on the owner's person - it can be left somewhere secure or hidden, regardless of distance, and the invocation will still work.
- Exposure to Divine/Holy magic will release the bad luck/misfortune back unto the owner to be enacted all at once, but this does not break the bond.
- If the hand is not presently bonded to an owner, it will immediately bond to the next person to touch/hold it.
- The Hand of Izmaelis' catastrophe does not always effect the owner directly, but can be indirect as well - effecting loved and cherished ones of the owner instead.
