Cauldwin Talson Valfnyr
Left Eye: Missing
Cauldwin Talson was once a Nordenfiir who was amongst the ranks of the Allirian watchmen, his tall stature, rather bulky heavy plate armor, as well as a strong mind and arm gave him the moniker "The Golem". However, it is thought is violent service has not been kind to his mind. Countless missing were found in the pits of his home, leading to a chase and a battle culminating in him being incinerated by his brothers in arms. These deeds he is deemed guilty of has forever branded him in the minds of the Allirians as "The Butcher of Alliria." But death is not always the end in this world, now returned as a Nordwiir undead, under the vassalage of a dark god of order, he has returned to uphold his oath and reclaim his honor...
Appearance
A very tall, athletically built man, with light grey skin covered in faded scars across his body. He lacks his left arm just above the elbow. On his back he has deep ritual scars depicting the snarling head of a wolf and above it a sword wielding skeleton thrusting down at the beast. His right eye Glows a green color while his left is just the empty socket being more concave than his right socket. In addition, he has a grey goatee ending in a curled point, complemented by a fine handle bar mustache. His hair is curly, unkempt, and short. The coloration is mostly a grey color save for the few brown curly locks on the back of his head.
Of course, this is something rarely seen, for he almost always wears his signature armor: bulky, simple, dark, vissageless, rusted iron plates over steel chainmail: on his chest plate is the insignia of the Allirian guard stamped into the upper left corner. Where he has lost his arm the armor is jagged and scorched. On his hip he carries his barbed steel longsword, a greatsword if not for his prodigious height.

Skills and Abilities
- Man at Arms (Cauldwin holds a basic understanding of how to effectively use and maintain all common melee weapons.)
- He Who Lives by the Sword... (Cauldwin has spent a lot of time with his blades, making him especially skilled with swords, as well as being very knowledgeable on advanced techniques.)
- ...Dies by the Sword! (Cauldwin has seen a lot in his time, an army of men will not frighten him, nor will gargantuan abominations; making him exceedingly difficult to terrify, intimidate, or cause to panic. )
-Rusted Revenant (Cauldwin lived, died, and lived again in his armor, he and it move as one, making him well conditioned to the armors weight and weaknesses. His new found undead state gives him a very low pulse, resulting in slow blood loss but a slow metabolism and thus extremely slow healing. In addition his blood has become a corrosive tar-like substance that easts away at living flesh.)
-The Long Arm of the Law (Before he was a watchman, he was a pit fighter, this in combination with his watchmen training means that he is a deadly unarmed combatant, using disorienting blows, grapples, tackles, and binds.)
-Field medic (his time spent patching up his many wounds from his brawls has left him with a fair well of basic medical knowledge: setting bones, staunching bleeding, splints, suturing, cauterizing, etc.)
- A Mother's Lessons (Cauldwin has not forgotten the many lessons in alchemy his mother had given him in youth, he is more than capable of creating basic poultices, poisons, and potions... as well as more profane creations.)
-Iron Will (Cualdwin is a tough bastard, he may resist attempts to affect the mind with magic, pain, and fatigue.)
-Beast Within (Cauldwin struggled with his svalen in life, in death the twin souls are one. Under high stress and physical trauma he enters a blood rage, causing him to give off a black miasma from his wounds and orifices, ignore pain, and granting him inhuman strength and savagery. Outside of the blood rage it results in an unnaturally keen sense of smell and hearing.)
-The Beast without (After spending too long in a blood rage, he enters his svalen form, turning into giant, two headed, feted, and mangled dire hound. In this state he is utterly deranged and bloodthirsty. The form lasts about three hours and upon retuning to his normal form he is completely exhausted.)

Personality
When he was fully alive Cauldwin barley lived, in death he has had those bonds cut and has learned to live every second he can to the fullest. He is highly conversive, revels in discussions of philosophy and battle. He is a bit of trickster if a more or less harmless one and has a soft spot for anything of the musical or written arts. He is also known to be rather paranoid at times. Though this has a dark side: he judges those around him, one moment he may be marry making with a band of men, only to suddenly cut them all down when they let slip bloody murder. In addition he is notably sadistic, toying with his enemies and reveling in any fear he inspires.
Biography & Lore
Cauldwin was born in the Areck slums to his 24 year old mother Helda Valfnyr and to his father missing and unknown. His mother was a refugee from the northlands seeking a safe haven for her and her son after she had been cast out by her tribe for the transgressions of the father. Cauldwin was born under the first of the three dark days of the year, and in the tribes teachings this meant the new-born's left eye must be removed, or the child will become feral in its svalen form. So his mother removed it with her hand. In time Helda would establish herself as an herbal healer in the slums with cauldwin as her apprentice, however, cauldwin would grow fast and tall, slowly raising their station in the city. When Cauldwin reached his tenth winter, he had his first and only transformation and killed a few vagrants who had cursed at him, the incident was dismissed as an animal attack by the watch. By his teenage years he was as tall as most men in Areck and so began his brawling career, as the Bear of Barlo, given to him for the furs and warpaint he wore when he brawled in the more prodigious Barlo Underground Arena. He won and lost many fights, as well as gained many coins and wounds, forcing him to learn very quickly how to patch himself up, resulting in some rather nasty scars all over his body.
Eventually he gained enough to pay his and his mothers way out of the slums and into the outer city. Upon there travel to the outer city they were confronted by a few vagrants aiming to rob them When one of the vagrants drew a blade Cauldwin rushed him and slammed him to the ground he was however stabbed thrice in the side by another vagrant and had to hold both of his knife wielding assailants, while the third tried to overpower his mother. Four Allirian watchmen had saved them from the assailants and escorted the wounded Cauldwin and his mother to the outer city. From this point onward he knew what he would be, an Allirian watchman. Cauldwin was added to the ranks of the 'Unstoppables' (the loving title for the 7th regiment: the more eccentric and juggernaut-like units of the Allirian watch). Not having any standards to fit his size the regiment would have one specially commissioned in Iron for him. Cauldwin took it as a badge of honor, he would patrol the roads of the outer city and the slums, keep the peace through out Alliria, and serve as a bannerman and vanguard in war.
Cauldwin's mother would become very ill of a shadow sickness and would die from it at 43. He would spend almost every coin he had saved to buy his mother one of the grandest headstones in Alliria. His life spiraled downwards after this: he spent most of his time off the watch drinking and brawling as the Bear of Barlo to lose himself in a bliss of rage and combat. He would go on to swear himself a servant of the Celestials and more specifically the warrior, until his demise at age twenty-seven in the Allir Reach. Thirty seven citizens of Alliria were found in his alchemy laboratory and being the prime suspect he would be hunted down and finally slain by members of the watch. Death would not be his end however, he would be corrupted into Nordwiir and return as undead under a dark god known as the Stríðsfaðir (or Warfather in common)'s vassalage, eager to reclaim his honor and have his justice. He has since roamed the realm, tormenting brigands and those he sees as lawbreakers and stringing up their mutilated and broken corpses where they once committed their transgressions.
