Catherine Ulwool, "The Artisan of Stars" is probably the most down to earth and common-looking in the Merchant Council; otherwise populated by enigmatic figures as impressive and powerful as their houses.

However, looks can be deceiving.

Catherine is a crafty politician and can be just as cunning and ruthless as her peers, but she is also driven by idealism. Perhaps of all the merchant councillors, she is the one most actively fighting for and being a proponent for equality and the rights of apprentices, craftsmen and skilled labourers, remaining their steadfast voice.

Perhaps of all these figures, Catherine is probably the only one to have made her way to her station through honest work rather than inheritance of wealth and power. She worked as a candlemaker first in the Outer City, before becoming a leading head of the Guild of Candlemakers. From there, she began to consolidate fellows craftsmen in her area, forming a mighty guild that could demand higher salaries and rights for the ones who maintain the city's lighting at night.
