Appearance
Cassian Laroche is a man of stature, broad shoulders and calloused hands hinting at his profession. His face is kept company by a short goatee and mustache, though it's not uncommon for it to develop into a full beard between ports. His loose fitting clothing and salt stained boots paint him as a sailor. Brown eyes peer out from behind weathered features, long days in the sun and rain evident even at his young age. Several small nicks and scars are covered by his facial hair, mementos of a tumultuous lifestyle.
Skills and Abilities
Sea Legs: This isn't Cassian's first year upon the sea, nor the second. As long as he can remember he's been working on or near the water. Wharves, shipping barges, fishing boats, and most recently - a raiding bireme. From working the sail to general ship maintenance, Cassian has built up a wealth of knowledge over the years, one which he hopes to see use of as the captain of his own vessel someday.
Brawler: While some seamen prefer the nimble blade of a rapier, Cassian favors the weight of a cutlass - if his fists don't do the trick. The veteran of many a fight, he bears the marks of wisdom upon his flesh. In a throw down he's one you'll want to have your back, whether it's for his size, skill, or both.
Jaded: Years of hard living have given him a somewhat blase perspective as to the plights of others. While not strictly amoral, he is certainly a man of the world. Inclined to the wants and needs of the flesh, unless there is a clear benefit to him Cassian is unlikely to put himself out on a limb in any way.
Weakness for Coin: If there's money to be had, there you'll find him. Whether it's gambling, hustling, or straight up robbery, Cassian has an eye for coin. Its acquisition is paramount to him, especially if it furthers his goal of one day being the captain of his own vessel. His focus on acquiring money can often blind him to things of importance - such as consequences.
