A woman betrayed by friends and framed for her lover's murder on the hunt after ten years of imprisonment.

Appearance

Caoimhe is tall, fairly athletic in build, and balances strength with femininity. Her long silver hair - grown wild after years of imprisoned neglect - cascades down her hair in thick, untamed tresses. Her pale skin glows with a slight purple aura and she carries herself with purpose and determination.

Skills and Abilities

Due to the symbiotic relationship she now shares with the Black Phoenix Aelsphrnix, Caoimhe is capable of feats that require great strength, agility, and a capacity to blow things up with fire. Typically, Caoimhe switches between these different "Stances" in order to pace herself and not use too much energy up too quickly. She can combine two - or even all three - Stances together to create fascinating and destructive effects, but doing so can become very dangerous to her and those in the general vicinity. If the worst happens, Caoimhe will turn Miniature Supernova and explode in a fiery inferno leaving nothing - not even ash - behind. As she grows in strength, Caoimhe becomes more able to keep her Stances stable - especially when combining them.

Heat: As Caoimhe uses her supernatural abilities, her body temperature rises. While Aelsphrnix allows Caoimhe's body to withstand a great amount of heat beyond that of most mortals, reaching a pinnacle point of Heat will cause Caoimhe to Supernova - or fatally explode. Fortunately, Caoimhe can vent this heat to a degree, but doing so leaves her vulnerable to attack and lowers her affinity towards whichever Stance (or Stances) she is in (refer to the Bars analogies).

Rage Stance: This is Caoimhe's strength-focused stance. Superhuman feats of strength and power run the gamut of this stance - many of which center around the half-ton steel balls that swing about from the chains attached to her wrists. Thanks to her bond with Aelsphrnix, Caoimhe can absorb the balls into her body when they are inconvenient (such as for opening doors without turning said doors into big giant holes) and then bring them out again.

While in Rage Stance, Caoimhe's physical power increases the more damage she deals and takes (in other words, the "Angrier" she gets, the stronger she becomes). If it helps one picture this stance, one can imagine a bar that fills with red as she gains Rage. This Rage provides increases in power and allows her to use more intense and powerful abilities that rely on her physique. One such ability is Pulverizer Hook. With this move, Caoimhe uses her high body temperature to shape the iron cuffs around her wrists into spearheads that she throws at a foe or environmental object. She can then pull herself towards the target or vice versa. If the target is an enemy, Caoimhe then swings one of the steel balls around to bludgeon the target.

Entering Rage Stance resets any benefits of Predator Stance (unless the Stances are active simultaneously).

Predator Stance: This is Caoimhe's Agilty-focused stance. When she requires reaching high places or covering a distance in a small amount of time, Caoimhe internally activates this stance as doing so increases speed and agility and allows for myriad abilities that take advantage of these traits.

While in Predator Stance, Caoimhe becomes increasingly agile and capable of inhuman speed. Moving around and being evasive increases these capabilities. If it helps one picture this stance, one can imagine a yellow bar that fills up over time. Many abilities used in Predator Stance would decrease this bar. One such ability would be Wings of the Phoenix. This ability allows Caoimhe to hover in the air before dive-bombing a group of targets for a series of rapid attacks.

Entering Predator Stance resets any benefits of Rage Stance (unless the Stances are active simultaneously).

Phoenix Stance: This stance focuses around Aelsphrnix - the Black Phoenix that Caoimhe has bonded with. When this stance is activated, Caoimhe takes on superficial traits of Aelsphrnix (such as black wings on her back, sharpened black claws instead of nails, and a beautiful crown of feathers that sweep back along her head) as she focuses on Black Fire and Self-Preservation. As a Special Stance, Phoenix Stance does not reset the benefits of Rage Stance or Predator Stance, and instead causes more Heat to build up with each ability.

Phoenix Stance builds up Nova Power which allows Caoimhe to create increasingly devastating black fire effects and feats of self-preservation. If it helps one to imagine this feature, one can imagine a purple bar that fills up. Unlike Supernova, Nova Power simply represents the strength-build up of Aelsphrnix's power within Caoimhe. Abilities in Phoenix Stance can reduce Nova Power with use. One such ability is Black Pillar - a scorching tower of black fire that incinerates foes stuck within it.

While details of combined stances will not be provided for simplicity's sake, the names of these stances will be provided.

Unstoppable Stance: The combination of Rage and Predator Stances - a mixture of physical strength and agility.

Inferno Stance: The combination of Rage and Phoenix Stances - strength blends with fire.

Immolation Stance: The combination of Predator and Phoenix Stances - where speed meets fire.

Pinnacle Stance: All three stances combine to turn Caoimhe into fiery death itself. In this stance, she is capable of transforming into a giant black phoenix temporarily.

Personality

Due to being imprisoned for a murder she did not commit because of those she thought of as friends, Caoimhe is understandably very slow to trust someone. She prefers to remain aloof and unattached, but finds herself struggling to keep this up when her enraged haze subsides enough to allow her mind wander to happier times.

On the surface, her rage and despair make social interaction difficult, but internally, Caoimhe craves to find somewhere she belongs without worry. Betrayal makes it hard to be optimistic about that, however.

On the upside, Caoimhe is rather adorably obsessed with most woodland animals as they remind her of home - or rather what used to be home.
