Grasping Roots and Vengeful Thorns were of mortal stock once, from times and places that they can't recall. Their blighting has entirely transformed them, body and soul, into beings of malevolent power. These spriggans answer to the oldest and most powerful among them, whom they call the Seed Mother.

Seed Mother was once a different sort of spriggan inhabiting the mystic forests of the fae realms. Unlike her peers, she seems to know of the blight's cause but reveals nothing about her dark schemes and ambitions.

Grasping Roots is the smallest of this group of spriggan, standing at about 5'3" with a willowy build. She has rough, pale bark for skin with cracks that glow with a sickly green hue, as do her eyes. Her legs appear to be made of vines.
Vengeful Thorns stands at about 6'4, and is more robust in stature than the other two. Her clawed hands appear to be covered on the backs with thorns. The slim cracks in her smooth bark (and eyes) glow with a yellowish-green hue.
Seed Mother is the tallest of them at over 7' tall. She has cracks all over her nearly-skeletal body, but her "hair" is a verdant curtain of moss and fungi. She radiates a soft indigo glow.

Arboreal Concealment: All blightspawn spriggans have the ability to conceal themselves within trees (like dryads), but are not bound to trees.
Command Blighted Beast: All blightspawn spriggans have the ability to communicate with and control animals (that lack general willpower) which have been infected or turned by blight. This ability works better on animals that have been completely blighted.
In addition to general powers, blightspawn individuals develop personal powers:
Grasping Roots can command the roots and branches of nearby trees, causing them to ensnare, crush or choke the life out of creatures. (Defeated!)
Vengeful Thorns can create thorns from any woody plant material by touching it. These thorns carry a necrotic poison that damages and destroys flesh.
Seed Mother has a stronger connection to the powers of the blight and can command greater blighted beasts. She can infect a dead body (animal or humanoid) with a concoction of seeds and spores that grow over 24 hours into a collective organism under her control. This organism behaves as a zombie.

These spriggans love to garden. They just happen to love gardening with blight!
