Born behind the walls of Vel Anir, Audra was subject to the crazed murmurings of a cult. The aftermath of their darkest ritual still hangs over the mercenary like a blight, though she remains oblivious to its full ramifications.

Appearance

The starkest portion, perhaps, of her appearance is her left eye, or lack thereof. The method of its removal is difficult to tell, for a strange flesh had overtaken whatever wound was present. Tattoos riddle her skin, vague scrawlings of black with no true discernable meaning beyond morbid reminders of her path. The most common of these eldritch drawings are elaborately depicted eyes, the most prominent of which is on the palm of her hands. The vast majority of these are covered by her clothing and armor, but their omnipresence makes such a task disappointingly difficult to accomplish.

Beyond such oddities, however, Audra could have easily been defined as someone beautiful. Regal, sharp features decorate her visage while her hair gradually brightens at the tips. Her armor is nothing elaborate or expensive, simply being a mixture of studded leather and cloth.

Skills and Abilities

Having served for some time in the Anirian Guard, Audra has emerged with great skill in the art of swordplay. While she did learn archery in her time serving, the loss of an eye resulted in her profuse refusal to use the weapon in favor of her sword.

The ritual changed Audra. It was a curse, and yet—if only she were to embrace it—it could also be a gift. A gift from the void, a gift from Them. The full extent is unknown, for Audra only possesses a limited portion and possesses no knowledge or training with it. Much of the time, she refuses to even employ it in fear of what it might yield. Yet if she listened to the yearning chorus in her mind, perhaps that fear would subside—perhaps power would be its replacement.

Personality

Audra generally possesses a quiet demeanor, having taken to being a passive observer in conversation so as to not draw undesired attention to herself. However, such silence should not be mistaken for timidity, as she is more than willing to reprimand those that do so.

If she becomes close to someone, they tend to see that barrier of self-isolation slowly slip away in favor of letting her 'true self' come through, in all its charming and snarky glory.

Biography & Lore

Born Behind Safe Walls

It was in the city of Vel Anir that Audra was birthed into the world, born into a minor household with minor responsibilities and minor wealth. What followed her unremarkable birth was an unremarkable childhood, filled with the sorts of events that every child got up to. She played pranks on unsuspecting teachers, climbed whatever tree she could find, and fought duels while armed with branches and twigs.

Audra was sociable, and her teenage years followed in the same line. She'd gaze wistfully out her window at the passing Anirian Guard, painfully wishing she could join them. To see the world, defend the world from injustice and evil, and to know a world behind those safe walls.

it was when she came of age that she could join their ranks, training under the guidance of masters and warriors. She had no innate magic of her own or even a passing proficiency in it, meaning she could never have joined the elite Dreadlords, but the sword possessed an allure all of its own to the young soldier.
