Arne Kellmir
Arne is a Proctor of the Academy and a still active semi-Dreadlord.
No one is quite sure where he is originally from, Arne has been a known quantity among Dreadlords and Anirian Politics for some time. From a young age his magics and skill had seen him rise quickly to the top of his class and beyond. Like his close friend Mars Pallatrix, Arne graduated early and quickly rose through the ranks above his peers.
Though with a far more jovial attitude than his longtime associate, Arne has been no less cruel, vicious, or pragmatic.
He saw the the Academy as little more than a game to be played, one that he succeeded at. Once graduated the world of Vel Anir was well within the same scope, and he quickly found himself a fixture of the Dreadlord Ranks. Alongside his friend, Arne was quickly promoted to the rank of First. Many presumed he would quickly ascend to Archon.
These presumption however were quickly cut after Arne returned from a mission with Mars. Though they had embarked with near a dozen Dreadlords, the two returned alone. Their mission successful, but Arne now missing his left leg.
Neither of them have ever spoken of what occurred upon this mission, and whenever pressed have simply stated that they did as they were commanded. Stone faces and stern voices have kept details far from official records, and completely omitted even on the most solemn nights.
After this incident Arne seemed to lose his cutting ambition. Though still extraordinarily powerful, the Dreadlord did not seek a further rise in position, and simply seemed content to remain among the First.
In the years following this instant, Arne continued his role as a Dreadlord. Though his missions took on a more secretive roll. Often he would be sent away to distant lands with one task or another, generally alone, and with only word to a few.
It was during one of these missions that the Revolution took Vel Anir. Upon his return, the aging Dreadlord found his home to be something utterly new, changed within the span of just a few months.
Though he has never stated which side his allegiance would have fallen on, the Dreadlord did not oppose the new Regime. Instead he took the offer of amnesty, taking on the roll of a Proctor to the Academy and sometime Diplomat to lands affar.
Skills and Abilities
Arne's magic is an inherent force of nature, a fact of life that no being on Arethil could survive without; gravity.
Over the years he has learned to control and fine tune this power to a careful razor. His abilities and scope of power reach far, particularly after the loss of his legs. There are few Dreadlords still alive who could match Arne in a singular duel, and in his prime the man was considered one of the strongest.
Though his abilities are great, and his power undeniable, using his magic creates a massive strain upon Arne's body.
The strength inherent within his abilities is also it's weakness. There is always and equal and opposite trade for his exertions. So while he is capable of great feats of destruction, such things always have their price. As such over the years Arne has learned that careful and precise manipulations of his magics are far better than ostentatious showings.
That being said, dozens of rumors float around the now Proctor. They whisper of rent city walls, men torn apart, and the earth itself quaking as he took a single step.
The truth of these is difficult to know, but even with only one leg many fear to cross Arne's path.
