In Slavic folklore, Baba Yaga was a goddess who was neither good nor evil and was both the goddess of creation and destruction. Over time she was reduced to a witch. Don't get me wrong, being a witch is rockin', (I'm pagan myself), but being demoted from goddess to a witch is kinda lame.
