Anür'dhain
Overview
The Anür'dhain are an endangered animal-like species of Fae. They have sentient intelligence and are capable of speech and craft. Although Anür'dhain mimic the appearance and behaviour of the animals they resemble perfectly, they are not true animals, and other Anür'dhain, and true animals are able to distinguish them on sight.
Language
They are taught to speak Elven and the common tounge.
Appearance
The appearance of the Anür'dhain varies a lot since they are indistinguishable when compared to other animals. That is why they make excellent spies and information brokers.
Habitat
Anür'dhain society is scattered around the known world and are well hidden. They have a nomadic lifestyle and travel frequently to avoid being hunted by dust mages. Rolóh and Êlithel are the only fixed settlements of the Anür'dhain and it is well hidden within the snowy mountains of the north and the dense forests of the south.
Traits
Anür'dhain are an extremely diverse race of Fae. They range from different kinds of fauna, may it be land, air or sea. Northern Anür'dhain of Rolóh are war like and pride themselves with honour and kinship. They are commonly hired as mercenaries and bodyguards. Forest Anür'dhain of Êlithel are more calm and peaceful and are in good terms with the woodland elves. The Woodlands elves frequently recruit forest Anür'dhain as sentries or spies.
When an Anür'dhain dies, it doesn't leave its body behind. It instead turns to blue dust which mages find extremely priceless and valuable.

History
It is unknown when or where they came from, but it's is said that the Anür'dhain arrived before elves did.
The early elves taught them how to speak, read and craft. The two races were inseparable. They've even gone so far to binding themselves to each other, one soul in two bodies. Even when it came to warfare, the two societies would always work together to achieve victory. All of that changed when they've discovered blue dust. An Elven mage, who calls himself Alureion, discovered that blue dust greatly enhances someone's magical attunement when ingested or inhaled but can also be a very addictive substance. However, the only way one can acquire blue dust is by killing Anür'dhain. Then the Dust Wars began. Alureion started a genocide that would result into one of the most inhumane wars in history. There were elves who aided the Anür'dhain in the war but Alureion's actions ruined the trust of some Anür'dhain.
Until today, the Anür'dhain are still being hunted for blue dust by mages.

Culture
Anür'dhain culture is very unique. The Anür'dhain heavily relies on nature. Like animals they Hunt and gather, but they don't kill other Anür'dhain for food. Most Anür'dhain don't have infastructures such as homes or a town hall, but some have burrows or small tree houses.
Binding
Binding is the most sacred practice of the Anür'dhain. Binding is similar to marriage where two souls form into one. This can occur between two Anür'dhain who has mated, two Anür'dhain friends or someone who befriended an Anür'dhain. Once binded, the two become inseparable. The bond is so extreme that they would feel pain if seperated for too long. If it came to death, the other would die too.
Leadership
Every Anür'dhain community has a lallevan or 'speaker'. They are elected by the populace and tend to serve around 100 years.
