House Weiroon’s patriarch is Sebastian Weiroon. As head of the house he has overseen it during a period of waning power. Other nobles of Vel Anir have long gossiped and murmured about the inability of his leadership. His squandering of resources. And how his heir apparent, Adonis, seems to be the least competent heir-in-waiting within the Anirian noble societies.

What many outside of House Weiroon do not realize however is that the Great House’s success was always heavily reliant upon the ancestral magics of the family line. Unfortunately for Sebastian this well of magic had run dry after the passing of his great grandfather two decades ago. Even more unfortunate for Weiroon’s heir Adonis is that the youngest child of Sebastian Weiroon, Aisling, is the first member of the Weiroon clan to show a capacity for this hereditary magic in four generations. Calling into question the entire line of succession within the Great House.

Biography & Lore

Aisling is the fourth born and youngest child of Sebastian Weiroon. She is also the only daughter of the leader of Great House Weiroon. Her eldest siblings are Adonis Weiroon, Angelo Weiroon, and Augustus Weiroon. It was discovered at a very young age that Aisling had inherited the hereditary magic of House Weiroon. As with any Great House of Vel Anir this information was heavily guarded. The public and other noble houses were not made aware of this information and Aisling was not handed over to the dreadlords. As far as anyone knew the House of Weiroon never had any magical births in their long and storied history.

The discovery of her magical abilities within the family however caused a rift. Adonis Weiroon was set to inherit the title of patriarch and given that his sister was a solid seventeen years his junior he immediately saw her magical talents as a threat. Within the trusted circles of the Great House factions have formed pledging to back Adonis as the rightful successor or Aisling as the future of the house.

What complicated matters further was Aisling’s own desires. When she entered her early teens she expressed a longing for the sea and the ways of combat. Her tutors had long noticed that the girl harbored a deep sense of justice and a respect for the law which was unusual for the members of House Weiroon. Being the only daughter of Sebastian and Delilah Weiroon they had dottled her throughout childhood and granted her requests for sailing lessons as well as private training with some of the most talented swordsmen throughout Vel Anir.

Upon her twentieth birthday several strings were pulled, Aisling worked her magic, and she was admitted as a commander of the Anirian Corsairs. This was an advantageous arrangement for House Weiroon as well as her detachment of corsairs focused primarily on the rooting out of piracy among tradelines that happened to benefit Weiroon’s commercial success.

Only time will tell how the succession to the leadership of Weiroon will be handled as Sebastian’s health deteriorates. Adonis has shown every inclination to fight for what he views as his birthright. However, as Aisling continues to have success at fending off piracy on the open waters there are more and more within Weiroon who support her possible claim.

Appearance

Aisling is lithe of figure with some muscle tone but nothing extremely pronounced. She is extraordinarily average in appearance although her status as a member of Great House Weiroon does cause many suitors to line up for her. She is fair haired and fair skinned with dull green eyes.

Personality and Ideals

Aisling is unusual in that she actually wants to create more good in the world than evil. She believes that economic prosperity for her House and for Vel Anir can be used to benefit all lives instead of just the lives of the nobility. She detests the racism within many of the Great Houses and believes that elves, dwarves, orcs, and other races are just misunderstood by the majority of the Anirian populace. Her family tries very hard to hide her particular set of beliefs and views knowing that they are anti-Anirian.

If it weren’t for her latent magical abilities there would likely be no one with any say who would support her claims to rule the Great House.

Skills and Abilities

Advanced Probability Manipulation:
A long hidden secret magic of House Weiroon. Aisling Weiroon is the first in four generations to display this extremely beneficial magic. There are some within the Weiroon inner circle who insist that her father recall her from the Imperial Navy so that she can use her magic to benefit Weiroon’s failing financial situation.

Essentially her magic allows her to predict and even manipulate the probability of events. Put simply, Aisling possesses the ability to manipulate luck itself. Whether she is making it more likely for beneficial events to occur for herself and others or for bad luck to visit her financial rivals or physical rivals. She cannot determine the exact event that may or may not occur only whether an individual or group will experience a bout of extremely good luck or extremely bad luck.

Experienced Corsair:
Aisling has spent seven years on the high seas commanding an elite group of Anirian Corsairs. They have primarily ensured the economic security of Anirian shipping routes by felling pirates or escorting large or particularly vital merchant ships. This experience has granted her impeccable leadership, strong skills with the blade, and a superior knowledge of seafaring.

Post-Revolution

Admiral Vala Jarun, in the days following the success of the revolution, officially released Aisling Weiroon from her post as a corsair within the Anirian Navy. In the months to follow numerous bills and resolutions would be passed by the new Republic, one of which included an obscure loophole related to inheritance laws within the Anirian state.

It was clear to the Weiroon family that Aisling was now next in line to control the House's affairs. Her father's declining health has only caused further animosity within Weiroon's family dynamics and Admiral Jarun has met with Aisling on numerous occasions since the revolution.
