Appearance

"A Herrevan from Faarin, Great One," the hand that held out the scroll shook with age and chronic pain. Aether the Priest was as old as the late King Iordahn would have been, had he not been late. He wore his age like the Eretejvan mountains wore snow: proudly and handsomely. A thick mane of white doffed his head and jaw, the scars of his life's trials veritable rivers carved into his hide. He wore the robes of his Priesthood now, having retired his weapons and armor decades ago when his strength had begun to fail and old war injuries began to haunt him.

Biography

Aether is a venerable man now retired from a lifetime spent as an honored Warrior within the late King Iordahn's regime. In his youth he knew how to kill both man, beast, and creature with quick efficiency and he was very good at it, too. Aether was also one of the few of his generation to take up the working art of magic - learning powers of the mind and blood, a rarer art yet.

He retired in his late 50s after a war injury made him unfit to fight and left to study magic with the Priests of Kiringsaal. There he learned a great deal many more things and over the next 30 years would rise through the ranks of the Priesthood to become High Priest. Aether's power now resides in his age, wisdom, knowledge of a great many things, and magic. His are the arts of the mind and the blood - something the Priests wrote off as more akin to witchcraft than true magic. Aether is capable of reading minds and influencing them, as well he uses blood for various rituals.

Aether was one of the major players in helping Maude retake her throne from the Usuruper Borvenir. For his actions he was honored with a place on the Queen's Council and now serves as her trusted adviser.
