Racial Traits

The Hivemind: All Cast have highly attuned receptors for receiving instructions via pheromones enabling a vast communications array capable of communicating complex instructions spanning miles.

Genetic Fluidity: As a race they are highly adaptive. When introduced to a new or hostile environment it will not take long for the swarm to either adapt, find or create a way to overcome the danger.
In addition to their adaptable bodies they possess the ability to assimilate desired traits from the things they consume, changing themselves on the genetic level to possess the desired traits.

Lore & Behavior

The Advisors are intelligent creatures of the Cast. They often serve as scientists, biologists or bio-technicians guiding the adaptation and evolution of the swarm.

They are the intelligentsia of Cast society, they explore magic, science and other academia for the betterment of the swarm and serve the Hierarch as advisors in scientific, tactical and even political capacities depending on their mutation.

These following are the mutation variants of the Advisor Cast:

Generally tasked with tending the nurseries and primordial pools of the hive, they serve as guardians and caretakers of the larva in Cast hives or colonies, they are not reproductive members of the Cast but they serve as a last line of defense or the final desperate resort for the survival of the swarm.
In the absence of a hierarch or nexus, the Cast society centers itself around the queen as the reproductive member of the species. She is able to produce larva which then evolve as needed.

These creatures keep the vast Genetic libraries of the swarm and are in charge of all genetic research and development.
They are creatures that can analyze the needs of the swarm and create new strains of Cast in response to new challenges that the previous strains were not equipped to handle.

They are capable of manipulating genetic strands in living things as easily as a spider weaving a web. They are entomancers or druids tasked with guiding the evolution of the swarm.
A single Gene Weaver is necessary for the Cast to function properly, an average swarm will generally have no more than four Gene Weavers in total to keep the swarm in a general state of change.
